The Wisconsin Veterans Museum is
SCIENCE ON THE SQUARE
Friday, October 18th | 5:00 pm – 9:00
Children and parents, join us for the second annual Friday night SCIENCE ON THE SQUARE at the Wisconsin Veterans Museum as we present MILITARY STEM.
MILITARY STEM includes the following STEM activities:
Penny battery (electrochemistry): Discover how the process of corrosion can create usable energy. Kids will build their own penny battery and watch as it powers small lights.
Reflection: How does a periscope work? From tanks to submarines, almost all military vehicles employ a periscope. Students will learn how the reflection of light allows us to see through periscopes and will have a chance to build their own periscope.
Dress-Up Station: Parents, do not miss the dress-up station and a photo opportunity of your children in military uniforms. Kids will have the opportunity to try on various uniforms throughout military history.
