Miss Green Bay was a B-17 bomber so dependable that the men of the 863rd Bombardment Squadron, Eight Air Force dubbed her a “coming home airplane.” To the Nazis, she was just another in the long line of bombers that rained destruction on the Third Reich. This is the story of the men who named her, maintained her and flew the perilous missions deep into enemy territory during the last months of WWII.
