AUTHOR OF THE PACIFIC, HUGH AMBROSE TO SPEAK IN MADISON  

(MADISON) ― New York Times’ Best-Selling Author Hugh Ambrose will be guest speaker at the 2012 Wisconsin Veterans Museum’s Gala. The event is scheduled for Thursday, May 3, 2012 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Hugh Ambrose is the author of The Pacific, a non-fiction account of WWII, and project consultant for the Emmy award-winning HBO miniseries produced by Tom Hanks, Steven Spielberg and Gary Goetzman. In fact, The Pacific received 24 Emmy nominations and won eight, including the Emmy for Outstanding Miniseries for 2010. The book spent 17 weeks on the New York Times’ Best Sellers List and was an international best-seller. Gala attendees may join Ambrose for an exclusive VIP reception to take place on the Grand Terrace at the Monona Terrace and Convention Center from 5:00 – 6:30 p.m. Following the reception, Ambrose will speak about his personal journey in the making of The Pacific. The dinner will be in ballroom AB, which is right by the Grand Terrace. All proceeds from the event will support the development of new exhibits and programs at the WisconsinVeterans Museum.
