Powerful Line-up at the Wisconsin Veterans Museum
(MADISON) ― The Wisconsin Veterans Museum has a number of interesting programs in November. All programs are free, and open to the public. They are hosted in the Wisconsin Veterans Museum’s 2nd Floor Education Center, unless otherwise noted.

Topic: “Why Hitler Lost: A Wimmer Churchill Lecture” – A Lecture and Discussion
Location: Wisconsin Veterans Museum, 30 West Mifflin Street, Madison
Speaker: Andrew Roberts, noted author, historian, and commentator
Dr. Andrew Roberts took a first class honors degree in Modern History at Gonville & Caius College, Cambridge, from where he is an honorary senior scholar and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). He has written or edited twelve books, including the seminal A History of the English-Speaking Peoples Since 1900, and a number of military histories such as Waterloo: The Battle for Modern Europe, Masters and Commanders, and The Storm of War. He is a noted Churchill scholar and appears regularly on television and radio around the world, including as NBC’s chief commentator for the 2011 wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton.

Topic: “My Guitar, My M16 and Me: An Evening with Kimo Williams”
Location: Wisconsin Veterans Museum, 30 West Mifflin Street, Madison
Speaker: James “Kimo” Williams, Vietnam veteran, musician and composer
The son of an Air Force sergeant, James ‘Kimo’ Williamsen listed in the US Army on July 4, 1969. The night before, he saw Jimi Hendrix play at the Waikiki Bowl, and inspiration that carried him throughout his tour in Vietnam and for the rest of his life. A combat engineer, Williams built roads and cleared land by day and play guitar in service clubs at night until an Army entertainment director encouraged him to form a band and play for the troops full-time. His band, the Soul Coordinators, played in remote areas through South Vietnam, their music often competing with artillery fire. Join Kimo as he discusses his tour in Vietnam, his nearly thirty years in the military, and his career as a musician, award-winning composer, and music teacher. Kimo and his band played at LZ Lambeau in May 2010, and he continues to tour throughout the world with Gary Sinise and the Lt. Dan Band.
